Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin today said that he will propose that Pakatan Harapan retain the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system and urged the federal government not to scrap the tax just for political reasons.
He proposes a lower GST rate of 3-4 percent compared to the oroginal rate of 6% which was introduced by the Barisan Nasional government in March 2015, claiming that itcan effectively give the same revenue as the SST rates that were announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday.
