Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the Puspakom and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) offices in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur will be redeveloped under a privatisation project costing over RM100mil.
Loke told reporters that after visiting the Puspakom centre on Friday, added that plans to relocate Puspakom comes as there were numerous complains of traffic congestion due the presence of heavy vehicles at the current site.
The Transport Minister said the Cabinet had given the green light for the plans and there will be an open tender for private developers, including DRB-Hicom, to submit their proposals between January and February next year.
Loke said under the plan, a new Puspakom centre would be built located on a 4.45ha site before demolishing the existing one.
