For Kuala Lumpur residents, the cost of living is expected to go up with the KL City Hall set to raise assessment rates and quit rents for properties in the area. The move is expected to lead to a spike in rental costs in order to cushion the effects of the increase - but Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan says it's a necessary measure.
