Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran told the press on Wednesday that he hopes Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad would reconsider shutting down its operations.
He added that the government’s Employment Insurance System would be able to help Utusan employees who have lost their jobs.
It was reported that the employees were told to pack up their belongings and leave the office by 1pm as the cash-strapped company officially ceased operations.
