Kylie Jenner’s already having a pretty rough week, and she just got slapped with a lawsuit!
Twitter fires, real fires and now a lawsuit?
Kylie’s cosmetic empire is causing her a lot of headache .Last Thursday fans were outraged when Kylie revealed that her 16 brush collection would cost 360 dollars. And although she explained the price point as a consequence of having a non-synthetic line, fans and celebs alike just weren’t buying it. One fan pointed out QUOTE “The only person that can afford a set of $360 Kylie Jenner makeup brushes....is Kylie Jenner.
The kit also earned a pretty scathing review from makeup artist Jeffree Star.
Then, Sunday evening Kylie tweeted out that her lip kit factory in Oxnard was “severely impact” but the wildfires ravaging LA and Ventura counties and would have to temporarily close due to employees having to evacuate.
Now, the 20 year old entrepreneur s getting SUED - and it’s for a surprising reason. The lawsuit against Kylie’s website was brought by Antoinette Suchenko, a woman who has been legal blind for 20 years. She uses a screen-reading device that provides audio of all text on a website and encountered difficult when accessing Kylie’s site. Per the Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA because companies are required to provide the same full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages or accommodations to blind customers as it does sighted ones.
Ms. Suchenko isn’t looking for some quick cash though, she just wants the website to be updated in order to make it accessible for blind individuals, so everyone can buy those sweet lip kits and overpriced brushes!
This kind of lawsuit runs in the family, as the Kardashing DASH boutique was sued on the same grounds last October. A similar case was brought against Winn-Dixie in June, and the plaintiff won, so this bodes well for Antoinette. We certainly hope Kylie Inc brings the website up to standards ASAP. In spite of the all the controversy, Kylie did just hit 100 million instragram followers, so all it not lost for the beauty queen.
Well, what do you think of all the drama surrounding Kylie’s business right now - especially the lawsuit? Let me know all of your thoughts in the comment section below, and make sure to subscribe! Thanks for watching newsfeed, I’m Zoë Lillian - and I’ll see you next time!
