Lady Gaga Gives EMOTIONAL Song Dedication To Friend Battling Cancer At Coachella

Lady Gaga dedicated a song to her cancer-stricken friend during Weekend 2 of Coachella! Today’s episode of News Feed is brought to you by Pandora Premium, where you can search and play your favorite songs. Pandora: sounds like you.

Coachella is known for it’s festive vibes and great performances. During Weekend 2 of Coachella, Lady Gaga performed some of her best songs, but the night took a turn and became more somber when she began to perform Edge of Glory. Before she began, Gaga said “My friend Sonja is very sick and I love her so much and if it’s OK with you, I’d like to sing this song for her.”
Sonja Durham has been fighting stage IV cancer and is Lady Gaga’s former assistant and longtime friend. Cancer sucks, but there is some positive news to celebrate; with the help of friends including Lady Gaga, Sonja was able to get married to her now husband Andre Dubois. The wedding was planned in just two weeks and on her blog Sonja writes, "Now you can do that when you have amazingly talented event friends and an Angel that tells you she is going to throw you your dream wedding and there are no arguments. So I cried and cried and if you can believe it let go of total control (i know crazy right) sent them my Pinterest and just asked when they wanted me to show up!!!!”
Earlier in the post, Sonja refers to Gaga as her guardian angel saying, "Honestly, if it wasn't for Gaga and the financial contributions from everyone so far I really do not think I would be here," she wrote. "Let's just say I understand why people give up and die because they do not have the resources that I have been given."
The Million Reasons singer also has a bonus track titled “Grigio Girls” on her Joanne album which is about Sonja. It’s hard to see people close to you suffer with any disease, but Sonja lucky to have a friend as kind and generous as Gaga, but now it’s time for you to chime in!
