A group of Sabah activists held a walkabout in KL Sentral today, urging the Election Commission to allow postal voting for Sabahans living outside the state.
One of the activists, Angie S Chin from “Vote Wisely” movement, questioned why there is a postal voting category for Malaysians abroad, but not for Sabahans working in Peninsular Malaysia.
Citing statistics that around 200,000 Sabahans are based in the peninsula, the group said denying them the option to vote remotely amounts to denying their constitutional right to vote.
The call comes ahead of the Sabah state election, set for Nov 29.
