Lorde Teases New Music in Cryptic New Zealand TV Commercial

The add is only 15 seconds long and shows Lorde eating some snacks while enjoying a ride on what looks like a bus or a train while piano music plays in the background. The ad ends with the dates 3/2/17 NYC along with 3/3/17 New Zealand. Lorde’s people are keeping their mouths shut regarding any hints about what the dates could mean but we have a feeling it has something to do with new music. We do know that Lorde will be appearing on Saturday Night Live on March 11 so I wouldn’t be surprised if she drops her single sometime before the show. Fans have been waiting anxiously since her last album Pure Heroine was released back in 2013 and since then, Lorde has been actively giving updates on Twitter about the new album she is working on as well as glimpses into her studio sessions with producer Jack Antonoff. Republic previously put out a release suggesting that new Lorde music could be coming our way on March 7th. So with all of the buzz, I think we can hold out hope that it will all be happening very soon. We will definitely be seeing more of her given the fact that she will be appearing at Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Governor’s Ball.
