Louis Tomlinson Reacts to Gay Rumors

A British news outlet recently published that One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson might be gay, so he’s taken to Twitter to put that outlet on blast.

Just to clarify, there’s some back story to this whole situation, so we’ll start from the beginning just in case you’re not quite up to date… So basically the Internet was buzzing last week when Harry Styles said in an interview that gender isn’t important when it comes to dating. Then shortly after that, Louis was seen out and about wearing a t-shirt with an Apple logo on it, which led British outlet The Independent to publish a story that insinuated the reason Louis was wearing that shirt was because he supports Apple CEO Tim Cook’s recent decision to come out as a gay man.

Essentially, some took this report as the newspaper’s way of subtly calling Louis gay, and as many Directioners know, there have always been whispers about the sexuality of Louis – as well as that of Harry. We’re not even going to get into that right now, because it really doesn’t matter what is someone’s sexual preference -- let’s talk about what Louis had to say about the report.

Well, the 1D star was not thrilled with how this all went down, so he took to Twitter to air his frustrations, tweeting out:
“@JennSelby The fact that you work for such a 'credible' paper and you would talk such rubbish is laughable. I am in fact straight. @JennSelby Google 'original apple logo' and you will see the one printed on my shirt that you reported on. Trying to look for a promotion ? Fucking ridiculous I even have to tweet that shit !”

However, even after reportedly receiving death threats from Directioners, the journalist who penned the story defended herself to him on Twitter, saying this:
QUOTE “... @Louis_Tomlinson We were merely speculating as to whether you'd shown your support to a brave man facing some persecution... ... @Louis_Tomlinson For his decision to come out in public recently. I'd like to remind my readers... .. @Louis_Tomlinson That being called 'gay' should never be insulting & that standing up for #LGBT rights is an admirable thing to do...”
