Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairperson Mahathir Mohamad made a stop at the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) which is located near Gebeng, a small town 25km north of Kuantan.
For the local in the area the construction at the first phase of the project has come to be referred to as Kuantan's "Great Wall of China" due to an eight feet tall wall, with an estimated length of at least nine kilometres which spans around the entire project.
