A group of students from the Peninsular Malay Students Association (GPMS) gathered outside Masjid Ar Rahman, near the gates of Universiti Malaya today to show their support for UM vice-chancellor (VC) Abdul Rahim Hashim.
GPMS president Mohd Alif Anas Md Noor said UM student Wong Yan Ke may have had political backing for his protest against Rahim at the university's graduation ceremony last week.
Wong had staged a protest against the Rahim over his alleged racist speech at the Malay Dignity Congress on Oct 6.
