The GDP for Malaysia grew to 6.4% in the second quarter of the year driven in part by higher exports and strong domestic demands.

According to the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, the very strong export performance was better then expected and it is very likely that the overall growth of the year will exceed the growth predictions made earlier.
