The education loan system in Malaysia is proving difficult for graduates.

Graduates have to start paying for their loans pretty much as soon as they leave university and many can't afford to pay and find themselves in debt even before they are able to earn a salary.

One such person is Mandeep Singh. And he is taking Malaysia's Higher National Education Fund to court for defamation and wrongful arrest after being prevented from leaving the country by immigration officers at the Kuala Lumpur International airport. The reason? They alleged that he had not been paying towards his student loan.
