MCA Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan said the party is firmly against PAS’ proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 or RUU 355. Ong was responding to Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s comment that Umno would convince other Barisan component parties of the need to amend RUU 355.
