MCA Youth's central executive committee (CEC) today bowed in defeat, apologising to the people and the party for its "failures" in the 14th general election.
"As a ruling party in the previous government, we did not play our role effectively, ignoring the voice of the people.
"From now on we shall be more humble in listening to the people’s voice, stand together with the people and view things from the people’s perspective," MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon said at a press conference at the party headquarters yesterday.
He said the youth will now seek to play a role as an effective opposition.
