On July 17, the social media was abuzz with news that a Malaysian Airline aircraft went off the radar. Shortly, it was confirmed that an MH17 flight from Amsterdam traveling to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over war-torn Ukraine and all 298 crewmembers and passengers onboard perished. Thus, began the long arduous and emotional journey to bring the remains of the victims’ home. Malaysia declared Aug 22 as its National Mourning day when the first batch of remains return home.
