美国《纽约时报》揭露，失联的MH370客机在折返之后曾一口气飞越马来西亚至少三个军用雷达阵，但是我国军方却对此无动于衷，没有采取行动。国防分析员蓝中华表示，如果这些报道是正确的，将是对我国国防的一大讽刺，因为从航线上来看MH370折返的航程，至少飞越2大空军基地和数个机场。蓝中华说，按照国防惯例只要有不明航机进入国家领空，军方便必须拦截。对于军方较后解释说那是因为他们探测到这个不明航机是个不含敌意的商业客机，蓝中华认为，这种说法实在是太荒谬。
