The Education Ministry held a meeting yesterday with the parents of two players in the Malacca Under-14 girls’ volleyball team, who were slapped by their coach.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the meeting was aimed at getting feedback from the parents of the students involved in the incident.
She added that the ministry will not tolerate violence, especially against students.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the coach who slapped two volleyball players has apologised to the victims and their parents.
According to Malacca executive councillor VP Shanmugam, the coach became emotional after his team did not perform as expected.
