Communications minister Fahmi Fadzil says the Cabinet has decided that the Education ministry will streamline the syllabus for pre-school education.

Meanwhile, he said certain aspects of religious education will be handled by Jakim.

Government-run preschools are currently managed by the Community Development Department under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
