Health minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said her ministry is probing claims that newborn babies had been “snatched” from their stateless mothers at a government hospital in Sabah.

She told the Dewan Rakyat that such incidents should not happen at any medical facility in the country and that her ministry would follow-up on the police report lodged by the Sabah State Health Department (JKNS) to deny the allegations.

Earlier Kelvin Yii (PH-Bandar Kuching) called for a transparent and independent investigation regarding the incidents.
