Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he will have to undergo 12 chemotherapy sessions in six months after Hari Raya Haji.
He said he will be doing this in Singapore and Malaysia, but in the meantime, he needs to build up his strength.
The Pagoh MP said this when met at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday.
He had been undergoing treatment in Singapore for a month after an operation on July 12 to remove a pancreatic tumour, which was detected at an early stage.
