Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today attempted to dispel allegations that he was using the emergency declaration to prop up the Perikatan Nasional government and his position.
He reiterated that as soon as the Covid-19 pandemic is overcome, he will advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to dissolve parliament, so that an election can be held.
However, he said for now, efforts by the PN government to combat the spread of Covid-19 should be supported.
