Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin questioned if the government will be forced to bail out the nation's controversial state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) if it is unable to settle all its debts.
Earlier this week, 1MDB chairperson Irwan Serigar Abdullah said 1MDB will be shut down as soon as all of its debts are paid off.
Irwan, who is also the Treasury secretary-general, also said that 1MDB was just like any other company started by the government, which aimed at generating business.
