Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak said yesterday that democracy has been crippled following the declaration of the emergency.
Najib said with parliament not sitting, there is no check and balance to keep the government accountable for its actions.
He said this to reporters after delivering his address at the Malaysian Democracy Forum: Charting the Future of Parliamentary Democracy in Malaysia on Monday.
