After celebrating his 65th birthday at the Parliament lobby on Monday, former Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak told reporters that funds channelled into Umno did not come from troubled state investment firm, 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). It was previously reported that Barisan Nasional had received RM300mil from 1MDB for the 2013 general election and Umno received about RM145mil of these funds from Najib's AmBank account.
