Najib: Without GST, economy would be crippled

Prime Minister Najib Razak shot down a proposal by Kulang MP Liew Chin Tong to have the Goods and Services Tax (GST) lowered from 6% to 3% in order to stimulate domestic demand by reiterating that GST is a saviour of the economy of Malaysia and that without it, the economy would be crippled.
An infuriated Chin Tong later responded that GST is more like the saviour of the Barisan Nasional.
