New(ish) Auckland Openings That Are Worth Your Money! Where To Grab Tasty Takeaways

These spots are ones we'd bookmarked to visit and we're so glad we finally got there! Fankery, created by self-taught baker Cathy Fan specialises in mochi crepe cakes, tarts and cheesecakes. She has a massive fan base and we can see why. These are absolute works of art that taste AMAZING. We were gutted when Ockhee, a delicious Korean restaurant closed but absolutely stoked to hear the team have reinvented themselves and turned into Double Dog- a Korean comfort food takeaway driven menu. Expect bold flavours and nourishing delicious rice bowls, fried chicken and hotdogs!

What we ate and where we ate it:

1. Fankery, 2B York Street, Newmarket, Auckland 1023. Open 10am-6pm Wednesday to Sunday. Total cost of 3 treats $56.50

2. Double Dog, Shop D/171 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby, Auckland 1011. Open 12pm-3pm and 5:00pm-8:30pm Tuesday to Thursday, 12pm-3pm and 5:00pm-9pm Friday and Saturday and 5pm-8pm Sunday. K Spag Bowl $20.90, Bulgogi Beef $26.80 (including 3 wings at $4.90), Smokey Pork Hotdog $14.90
