After two terms as an MP and not being fielded during the 15th general election, Nik Mohammad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz is again being passed over as an election candidate.

Malaysiakini previously reported sources claiming the son of former Kelantan menteri besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat may be fielded as the candidate for Chempaka.

Instead, at Perikatan Nasional (PN)’s candidate announcement outside Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu tonight, it was announced that the lawyer Nik Baharum Nik Abdullah will be making his electoral debut at the constituency.

Also not being fielded is former Umno minister Annuar Musa who has since joined PAS.
