Noah Centineo ADMITS He Was Sober for a Year & Talks Mental Health

Last month an old livestream of Noah’s resurfaced on the internet because pretty much everything Noah’s ever done has resurfaced on the internet and we’re not mad about it at all, but in this particular livestream, he reveals that he’s sober.
In the video he reveals QUOTE “When I was turning 21, I was like, damn, I've been partying like crazy since I was 17.... I was like, wow, maybe I should take a break. So I stopped doing all that and I found that a lot of problems I was having in my life, slowly, they didn't go away, they just became way more apparent to me.”
Now, Noah’s looking back on his decision to give his mind and body a break and be sober for his 21st year of life. In an extensive interview with Bustle, the Netflix star revealed even more about what led to him ultimately choosing sobriety. He told the outlet QUOTE “I was partying, experimenting, and just completely being reckless and being loose — while still managing a career. I was running on fumes, and I was pretty much getting high off the fumes that I was running on."
Noah then explained that he knew that something had to change, saying QUOTE "I woke up the day before I turned 21 and was like, 'Society is telling me I can legally drink now. ... Funny, I've been doing that and way worse for the past three, four years.” And now he can also look back and recognize that becoming sober was QUOTE “an act of self love.” It was that act of self love that really helped Noah take better care of himself. He said QUOTE “I learned the importance of taking care of myself, [of] making myself mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically sound. One always ties in with the next." It’s always great to see people who have the platform to inspire others be so transparent when it comes to sobriety and mental health. And really just be so positive and encouraging. I mean, have you seen his tweets? They’re like sheer poetry.
In regards to his Twitter feed, he tells Bustle QUOTE “if I can somehow bring a moment of reflection to someone that reads something that I put out or sees something that I do, it's really exciting to me."
