Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are picking up the pieces, in hopes that a 72-hour ceasefire that began on Tuesday would hold.

AFP reports that shops, banks and markets have re-opened, while residents are repairing their damaged property.

The Palestine government has estimated the total damage from the 29-day war at up to 6 billion dollars.
