PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang says public whipping under the Private Member's Bill is to punish offenders and to teach a lesson to others. He was speaking during an event with the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia. Abdul Hadi had asked to meet with the association to speak about the bill.
