It starts as early as 5 am and ends at 10 am. Every day ! This the daylight flea market at the fringe of Petaling Street in the Chinatown heart of Kuala Lumpur. It's officially called Pasar Karat in Bahasa Malaysia, literally meaning "rusty market". This is clearly how best to describe the decade old street market that has created some controversy recently. The City Hall is keen on turning this place into a tourist attraction and have been started giving trading licenses to the operators. They want to call this the Antiques Street. But is it really an antique market ? This video takes a close up view, and bird's eye view from a nearby building's  balcony, to let you judge for yourself. It would look like it's more of a junk yard or thieves market or antique market ? You can find some collectibles, some previously owned shoes and clothes, electronic gadgets, mobile phones, luggage, old coins, and even rusty old workman tools ! It's a feast of things at bargain prices. Best of all, at the middle part  of the street there's a stall serving hot and cold drinks for you to take a break. Whatever this place may be, tourists and locals must come and feel the atmosphere just before sun rise, especially on weekends when more stalls are present.
