An opposition MP and government backbencher urged the government to provide equal funding to all lawmakers for the benefit of their constituents.
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman in a supplementary question noted that the new administration has a duty to consider providing equal funding that would be used to benefit the people, contrary to practices by its predecessors.
Earlier, PBM's Julau MP Larry Sng also raised the issue of equal funding for MPs, on top of asking the government whether it had plans to increase the amount of special grants allocated under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) and People Friendly Project grants for Sabah and Sarawak MPs.
