Incumbent Bagan Dalam assemblyperson Satees Muniandy has quit DAP and announced that he would defend the seat as an independent in the state election on Aug 12.
In doing so, Satees, who is also Ujung Batu DAP branch chief, vowed to support caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow to continue leading Penang.
