The Perak ruler Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail still prefers the incumbent Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Azlan Man, despite Barisan Nasional had offered a new candidate.
Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Umno vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein had also arrived at Istana Arau on Tuesday for an audience with the Raja of Perlis over the issue.
