PETRONAS All About Youth is back and this year 1800 secondary school students from 90 schools in Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Melaka, Kelantan and Terengganu will be competing to showcase their ability and creativity to conduct impactful CSI (Corporate Social Investment) projects at their surrounding areas. The programme kicked off with boot camps at the respective states followed by awarding each of the schools a start up fund of RM 2,000 to complete their projects within six weeks. The teams will present their final project at state-level where they will be judged based on creativity, teamwork, impact, originality and project sustainability. Each team will be guided by a “buddy” who is a PETRONAS volunteer on project management as well as presentation skills throughout the competition period. The best teams from each state will then be flown to Kuala Lumpur to compete in the grand finale in September.
The winning school will receive a grand prize of RM50,000 while each team member will receive RM1,000 deposited into their individual bank accounts listed under the National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN).
