The Pakatan Harapan government does not intend acquire or buy back the national carmaker Proton.
The company which was started by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's administration in 1984 is now owned by tycoon Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary.
Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak had arranged the sale of a 49.9 percent stake in Proton to the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group from China last year.
