The plant is also Malaysia's first fully underground sewage treatment plant with a capacity to treat sewage from 1.4 million residents in Lembah Pantai and other areas in the Klang Valley. The Prime Minister said the plant would change public perception of sewage treatment plants as being "dirty and foul-smelling".
