The Federal Government has agreed to move the district education office (PPD) for Sik from its base in Baling town for the convenience of the locals.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the PPD office and staff were expected to be ready by next year.
He also officiated the opening of the RM7mil Perdana Sports Complex which included a hall, a mini stadium and a gymnasium.
