Action can be taken against parents or guardians whose children are caught using modified bicycles (basikal lajak), Bukit Aman Investigation and Traffic Enforcement (JSPT) director Deputy Commissioner Datuk Azisman Alias told a press conference on Monday.
Under Section 33 of the Child Act, it is an offence for parents or guardians to leave their child without reasonable supervision which is punishable with a fine not more than RM20,000 or a maximum jail term of five years or both.
