Lawyer and activist Fadiah Nadwa Fikri was questioned for an hour by the police in Brickfields on Wednesday over an article she wrote about the monarchy. She told reporters that she chose to exercise her right to remain silent and will only answer the questions in court should she get charged.
In a column titled “Don’t Kiss the Hand that Beats You” on a blog called Malaysia Muda, Fadiah questioned the institution of the monarchy in Malaysia, describing it as incompatible with democracy.
