Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim believes that new smart lockup technology can help police in their investigations into custodial deaths.
In response to a question about whether the new technology will be able to prevent custodial deaths from happening, Noor answered that it provide more concrete proof instead as to why such deaths happen.
He added that many deaths in custody are a result of crimes such as drug addiction where the detaines unfortunately pass away while in detention.
