Public expectations on politicians to have ample funds for distribution is a factor which contributes to corruption, Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) central committee member Dr Michael Jeyakumar said today.
Citing his own experiences as a two-term Sungai Siput MP, Jeyakumar told a press conference at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur that the public expect politicians to "act like Santa Claus" with constant funds for distribution.
