In response to Kuala Terengganu MP Raja Kamarul Bahrin's concern about the demolition of several community facilities at Kampung Tok Pe in his constituency to make way for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), Deputy Finance Minister Othman Aziz responded that sacrifices have to be made to bring about long-term benefits to the people.
Raja Kamarul Bahrin raised the point that the project should not be rushed and that the government should take into consideration the impact that such a big project will have on communities and the people.
