Looks like Adele isn’t the only British singer recently professing her love for the late great Amy Winehouse. Like Adele, Sam Smith says Amy’s documentary moved him SO much that he had to honor her work with another, properly recorded cover. As in in addition to “Tears Dry on their own” which Sam’s been slaying for a while. Ladies and gents- prepare to cry and be devastated. I present to you a sample of Sam covering Love is a losing game.
Seriously, if ever there was a gay man who could drop every panty in a room along with every boxer brief- it is Sam Smith. That was freaking beautiful. He debuted his rendition on Annie Mac’s BBC show today. But don’t worry- you’ll get to own your own copy very soon as Sam is including it in his deluxe reissue of his 2014 debut album In the Lonely Hour. But let us not forget the original diva’s soul crushing version…
I mean, heart, bleeding, mess on floor. Now, on a lighter note- Sam dropped by Ellen Degeneres’s show this week and it was really cute as they covered all sorts of topics like James Bond, Sam’s new cats, his new house and also his upcoming musical break. Yeah, he wants to take a break from working which initially pissed me off because a world without Sam is not a world worth living in, but then he explained why he needed the break and I was like, aight homey aight.
Sam deserves a little lovin’ too so go head and enjoy kissing boys. Just don’t stay away for too long. Now let me know your thoughts on Sam’s cover. Do you like his better than Amy’s or is Amy’s just an untouchanble piece of work? Let me know below or tweet me @Miriamisa. I promise I’ll read them.
