Sarah Hyland Says Her Modern Family Character Is Bisexual

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland just dropped a major truth bomb about her character, confirming that she is, in fact, bisexual.
2017 might’ve dropped the ball on a few things (Ok, a LOT of things), but they don’t call this show MODERN family for nothing.
It’s no question Modern Family has been ahead of the TV times for years on end – why else would it successfully run for nine seasons and counting?! Since the show’s first season, the support of same-sex marriage has been shown through two main characters, Mitchell and Cam, who are gay with an adopted daughter – which, considering the year, shouldn’t be noteworthy news, but here we are.
ANYWAY, Sarah Hyland, who plays sweet and sassy daughter Haley to Phil and Claire Dunphy, just took to Twitter to drop a major truth bomb to her fans about her character’s sexual preference. When one fan tweeted Sarah, writing, “"haley dunphy is bisexual ! #oneofus”, along with a follow-up tweet, asking Sarah to please confirm this theory.
And it looks like Sarah did just that when she confirmed not just one, but many fan theories that were picking up on the vibe that her character could possibly be bisexual. She responded back to the tweet saying, “I don’t know what the writers would say? But I confirm.”
Naturally, Sarah’s tweet unleashed a wave of responses from even more ecstatic fans praising her character, like this one who claimed to have a hunch since she came out as bisexual, saying QUOTE, “EVER SINCE I RELAIZED I WAS BISEXUAL I GOT BI VIBES FROM HALEY PUT IT IN THE SHOWWWWWWW.”
Although Haley’s bisexuality isn’t something that’s ever been clearly stated on the show seeing that she’s explicitly only been interested in and dated male characters, it seems like just a matter of time until the writers pick up what Sarah’s putting down.
