Back in October of last year, Selena revealed that she checked herself into rehab to focus on her mental health and has been very transparent about her personal struggles ever since. Yesterday while moderating a screening for a new Robert Pattinson film called Good Time at the Arclight in Hollywood, Selena casually mentioned that she spent some time on bed rest. She told the audience QUOTE - “A little while ago, I was actually on bed rest and it’s probably the worst time to watch Heaven Knows What, or the best time, depending on your mental state. And I ended up becoming extremely fascinated with the [the director and producer] and kind of forced them to be my friend a little bit.” Heaven Knows What tells the story of a homeless drug addict who attempts suicide before ending up in a psychiatric hospital. In the opening scenes of the Robert Pattinson film she was hosting the screening for, Good Time, a film by the same director and procuer, one of the main characters goes through a mental examination procedure which Selena addressed saying QUOTE - “For me personally, I really liked the mental aspect of it, because I’ve done a lot of those exercises that you put in this. So, in the beginning of the movie struck with me… that’s not really a secret, but, I for sure have talked about that and have done a lot of those exercises.”
It definitely makes it more interesting when you watch a film that reflects similar experiences you’ve had in your own life and it’s really cool that Selena is so open about it.
