Ok, so we don’t know for sure that Selena Gomez is teasing a new single, but we have a pretty good hunch. Today the singer treated us to three mysterious and identical Instagram posts. The three photos all have the words “Bad Liar” written in large lipstick letters in front of window blinds at night. Two of the posts feature red lipstick while one stands out in purple.
None of the posts have captions but the lipstick letters say it ALL. Our best guess is Selena has a brand new single coming called “Bad Liar”. And we have a feeling the song is NOT about her current flame, The Weeknd.
Last week we reported a rumor that Selena was planning a new single co-written by Charli XCX called “Bad Girlfriend”. The song is reportedly a diss track aimed at her ex Justin Bieber, about a girlfriend being accused to making a relationship go sour. We gotta say, “Bad Liar” seems pretty close to “Bad Girlfriend”, so that original rumor could have some truth to it.
So either Selena is finally taking a cue from Taylor Swift in the revenge track department, OR something else is going on here. Some fans believe that the song will be featured on season 2 of 13 Reasons Why, the Netflix show that Selena executive produces.
One other fan theory points at the show Pretty Little Liars. Did SelGo possibly write a song for PLL? I mean, the mystery and red lipstick writing is totally something “AD” would do.
No matter what is going on here, something big is coming from Selena. If it is a single, it’s a huge step for the singer as it will be her first solo single since taking time off to go to rehab for mental health issues. Tell us what you think “Bad Liar” means- just leave a comment below. And for a first look at our new show, It Got Real: Erin’s Surgery click over here.
