Beliebers have been feeling some type of way since Justin Bieber cancelled the rest of his tour, but should they be a little more understanding?
Today’s episode is presented by T-Mobile - America’s Best Unlimited Network.
I get it. It sucks when you can’t see your faves in concert, but at the end of the day, they’re human just like us and sometimes they just need a break from all the craziness.
Justin has been getting some mixed reactions to his decision to cancel the rest of his tour dates. Some of his fans and peers have been understanding while a lot of others have been understandably disappointed. However, it should be kept in mind that he wasn’t the first artist to cancel the rest of his tour for the sake of his health, and he definitely won’t be the last.
Other artists like Selena Gomez, Kanye West, and even the great Adele have cancelled some of their tour dates in the middle of a world tour because they were either sick or just knew they needed to take a break.
The last few years haven’t been easy for Justin. Aside from his rigorous touring schedule, the Biebs had a few run ins with the law, his past relationships were put to the test and ultimately fell by the wayside due to all the pressure surrounding them, he was even booed at his own concert when he asked fans to stop yelling so they can all have a moment with those who paid to see him perform, I mean, even with all that fame and money, life was pretty tough on Justin.
Sure, in theory, Justin had an obligation to his fans when he decided to sign a contract to perform at specific venues and his fans paid good money to see him in concert. But when push comes to shove and an artist feels like they’re on the brink of a mental break down, they should have every right to take a break from the madness and get back to their normal selves again.
Obviously Justin had reached that point when he decided to cancel his 14 remaining tour dates. Though it is understandable to want Justin to fulfill his commitment because it is a job that he signed on to do, sometimes an artist’s well being is the priority above all means and we should all remember that Justin, even though he’s a public figure who dedicated his life to performing and making music, he’s still a human being after all.
So now that we’ve laid it all on the line for you, what do you guys think? Should an artist fulfill their commitment to their fans or do you think its fine to cancel on a tour if they need to take care of themselves? Leave all your thoughts on the matter in the comment section below and as always, don’t forget to subscribe!
