Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat has quit Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) with immediate effect and declared support for Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s administration.
In a statement today, Masir said he will remain as an independent lawmaker given that the parliamentary term will end in a year.
“I left Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), which is a component party of the ruling coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), and joined PSB in 2019. Since then, I had a very limited source of funds to cater for the development of my constituency.
“So, I hope with my independent status and support of the BN government led by Ismail Sabri, I will get some allocation for the next one year to service my area, perhaps RM1 million to RM2 million,” he told Malaysiakini.
